An Iodophor is a preparation containing iodine complexed with a solubilizing agent, such as a surfactant or water-soluble polymers such as povidone (forming povidone-iodine), The result is a water-soluble material that releases free iodine when in solution.

2% Liquid Iodophor :-
 
Appearance  Dark Brown Slightly Viscous Liquid.

Solubility : Miscible with water.

Specific Gravity at 27⁰ C : 1.16 to 1.20

Iodine Content % : 10.00 % to 11.00%

PH of 1% solution w/v : 3.0-3.5

Storage Condition : Keep container tightly closed in a dry and well-ventilated place.

Handling Precaution : Avoid breathing vapor or mist. Do not get in eyes, on skin, or on clothing. Wash thoroughly after handling. When mixing, slowly add chemical to water. Never add water to chemical.

Sample Quantity : Approximately 100 Gm.
